Gardening Tips for A beautiful Garden

I will mention a few tips that have worked for me. When starting your own garden there is no need to go in blind. You have plenty of available information at your disposal. The Internet, magazines, books and clubs are all great sources for tips. In my experience you need to plan out your garden on paper. You will need to decide the size you are aiming for, and the amount of square feet available. You will also need to factor in the suns direction and how many hours of sun the plot will have available during the day. The tips will then include mulching, fertilizer, and soil preparation. You will need to factor in garden hose length preferably kept with a garden hose reel, and a garden sprinkler if possible. You should also consider the strength of the dirt pack that the tiller will be used to break up.

Gardening Tip 1 Plan out your garden on paper before attempting to lie out your garden. This can save you a lot of wasted time and energy in the end. Having a plan ahead of time is always the best route to go for any task. My favorite way to plan out my garden is to grab a chair, a clipboard, some paper and a pen and have a good look at the section of the yard that I plan on using. Having the space visible will make it easier for ideas to flow. Locate your garden hose and garden reel and take into account the distance between the garden ands the hose.

Gardening Tip 2 Soil preparation is a major factor in the future results of your garden. If you are growing vegetables it is extremely necessary to consider what ingredients are going into your soil. Good soil preparation is much easier to break up with a good tiller in your arsenal. A garden tiller will turn your mixture of soil for you and completely mix in all the ingredients. Though fertilizers do give the plants needed nutrients, I recommend good compost for vegetable gardens.

You might think of compost as being a daunting task, but it will more than pay for itself in the end. Home made compost can be an excellent source of nutrients for your vegetables but sometimes is out of the question. Mulch is an excellent substitute for the home compost mixture. When choosing mulch make sure you pick soft woods such as redwood, hemlock, pine or spruce. The softer woods break down much easier producing a wonderful organic nutrient. If you are able to make your own compost you should use it on your favorite plants as it takes time to produce. When the soil mix is done make sure to mix the soil well using a garden tiller.

Gardening Tip 3 When you are done with the soil preparation it is always wise to lay your plants out on top of your garden before planting them. This way you can take a step back and imagine the future results. In my experience it is best to group plants together by similar characteristics. The plant varieties that grow bushy and have a large radius should be grouped together, with the smaller root plants grouped in the same manor. Having the taller plants in the back and ascending in height toward the front of you garden is also advisable. This way the plants get the most out of their space.

Gardening Tip 4 Keeping up with the watering can be a hassle so it is advisable to use garden sprinklers if at all possible. If putting garden sprinklers in the ground is not an optionthere are sprinklers that screw onto the garden hose end that work quite well. There are timers available that will make the garden sprinkler a self-sustained watering system.

Gardening can be a wonderful hobby. It can be very self-fulfilling to notice your skills increase, to be able to eat your own produce, and to beatify your yard. Using the tips above will help you be on your way and on the right track to a luscious beautiful garden of your own.
